Things to do

There’s no denying that being placed in the middle of the Northumberland National Park and the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park and with Hadrian’s Wall, the Cheviots and the Scottish Borders close by, there is plenty to do and explore to keep you occupied during your visit with us.

There is plenty of information elsewhere online about the national park and the local tourist attractions such as Hadrian’s Wall, the Roman Forts, NT Wallington, Alnwick Castle and the like and there are some links below to key websites.

Here in this section you will find details of some of the things that we personally recommend within the local area, with other companies who we feel share our ethos and love of helping people to explore, enjoy and fall in love with this beautiful part of Northumberland.

The options we recommend are all related to the great outdoors and the natural world as that’s what we love and we think you will too.

We have split our recommendations into three sections; food & eating, walking & cycling and nature & creative activities – please use the drop down menu in this section to explore all areas and find the perfect ‘to do’ list for you!

Take time to read the sections and if there is anything that you would like us to help arrange for you, please get in touch

Best night's sleep I have ever had! Beautiful surroundings and the hut was lovely and cosy with everything we needed.
