COVID-19 & your safety at Wild Northumbrian

If you have a booking from 4 July onwards we are so pleased to say that that booking can now go ahead.

We’ve been working hard to make the site even better and more importantly, safe. We are writing to you today to let you know about all the improvements we have made and changes to the way the site is used which will ensure that you can stay with us with as little risk as possible.

If you have stayed with us before, you will know that we are on a large site where all accommodations are in their own secluded area. Some of the accommodation already had extra private facilities such as compost loos, water pipes, outdoor wood fired baths and bush showers.

However, the site has a shared toilet/ shower/ kitchen facility, therefore we have put in place extra features and some restrictions to cope with the social distancing and safety measures that are required, including more private facilities at the yurts and huts themselves.

We hope that as well as keeping you safe, our new improved features will make your stay even more comfortable and private, giving you the feeling that everything you need is in or around your yurt or hut.

All yurts and huts still have their wood fired stoves, gas camping stoves and outdoor cooking facilities and spaces for you to sit and eat.

Cleaning at the yurts & huts

Each Yurt and Hut will have a set of cleaning products as well as hand wash and gel, mop and bucket, cloths and broom and dust pan and brush.

Kitchen facilities

Although you can easy cook and do dishes at your yurt and hut, the kitchens will still be able for washing up and keeping your food refrigerated. They won’t be available to cook and hang out in however and no communal item like maps, books and nature equipment will be available. Only one set of guests will be allowed in each of our two kitchens at a time. Kitchens will need to be clear during change over times for staff to be able to clean. There will be plenty of cleaning products available in the accommodation and the shared spaces.

Other safety measures

As well as staff cleaning facilities regularly we ask that guests regularly spray all surfaces.

Guests will be asked to keep away from the main house and pastel workshop.

The car park will be set so that you can park safely with enough space between you and other cars.

On leaving the accommodation we expect guests to leave the accommodation clean and tidy with all surfaces sprayed and wiped down including door handles. We expect that cutlery, bowls, plates and utensils will have been washed up and back in the accommodation before leaving on the morning of departure.

On departing we ask that the accommodation is left with doors, windows left open to air the accommodation, that the bedding is stripped and put in the laundry bag provided and all rubbish is removed and taken to the bin area at the car park.

Changeovers will be thorough so guest will need to be aware that checking into accommodation any earlier then 3pm will be not possible as will leaving accommodation after 10.30am.
