Booking Terms & Conditions
To make a booking we require a 50% deposit made payable by cheque or direct bank transfer. The remainder of the payment must then be made no later than 6 weeks before your arrival date. For bookings with arrival dates in less than 4 weeks, a full payment payment must be made to secure the booking. Payment details will be sent out in an email confirming your booking.
By booking your holiday with Wild Northumbrian you agree to the following terms and conditions:
ARRIVAL AND YOUR STAY
All Yurts and Tipis are available from 3pm on day of arrival and must be left in a clean condition ( as you found it) not later than 11am of departure day. We ask all guests to let us know when they will be arriving by emailing us before hand and to ring 01434 240902/07720 053724 on the approach to the site. We live off site and therefore cannot always be available when guests arrive onsite. There is a map of all accommodation at the small carpark and a not with our contact details . It advises guests that they are welcome to move in to their accommodation and to give us a ring from the phone in the room to the left of the showers if they need assistance in any way. If we miss your arrival we will make a point of getting to see you as soon as we can. If there is any thing missing, broken (which we have not spotted prior to you arrival) or a question you need answering do let us know as soon as you can. It is not our policy to give refunds for anything which made your stay less than enjoyable without being contacted first either in person or by phone. My mum lives on site and is very amenable to being a person on site to contact .
Remember to bring towels and torches and between June and September, some insect repellant just in case. If you are staying in the Tipis remember to bring your sleeping bags, pillows etc as well.
On departure all Yurts and Tipis are to be left clean and tidy and cultery/plates etc returned and put back as you found them,with the keys. All rubbish and recycling are to be disposed of responsibly in the bins on site. Please strip your beds of linen and leave in a pillow case on the bed. If the accommodation is left in a untidy state Wild Northumbrian reserve the right to charge for extra for a full valet .
When you make a booking and payment an email confirming the dates and times of your holiday is sent to you. Booking and payment is considered the establishment of a legal contract.
CANCELLATION BY YOU
Deposits will not be returned for cancellations. In the event of a guest cancelling a holiday 2 weeks before arrival ( for whatever reason ) in a Tipi or Yurt, Wild Northumbrian will not refund the amount of the holiday. We will take all events and circumstances into consideration and treat every issue on a case by case basis. If you do not arrive on the date booked for whatever reason and have not paid the balance an invoice will be sent out for the balance by email.
CANCELLATION BY US
Extreme Conditions: Wild Northumbrian reserve the right to cancel a holiday or tranfer you to alternative accomodation on site or nearby at short notice if for unforeseeable circumstances we are unable to provide safe accommodation in a yurt due to extreme conditions, ill health, fire or administration or any other extenuating circumstance. Under such unlikely circumstances your full payment will be returned.
We reserve the right to cancel a workshop if any participant arrives having been drinking just prior to the workshop. This partcularly applies to outside workshops involving fire, cooking, knives etc. The workshop leader reserves the right to withdraw the workshop on health and safety grounds.
We reserve to cancel a workshop due to adverse weather conditions or there are not sufficent numbers to run the workshop. Under such unlikely circumstances your full payment will be returned.
BREAKAGES AND DAMAGE
If on your arrival you find any items or fittings, utensils, crockery or cutlery is broken, damaged or missing, please report it to Rob or Vicky on the phone numbers given and it will be replaced. We do accept a degree of wear and tear but should any significant damage or breakage occur during the period of your stay you will be held responsible for and must make good to the lowest market value. We reserve the right to charge for excessive cleaning where a Yurt, Tipi or Shepherds Hut has been left in an unacceptable condition, through waste, litter, interference in the structure, movement of furniture and contents etc.
You are responsible for children at all times. Wild Northumbrian accept no responsibility for injury incurred on either sites.
Guests will be held responsible for any fire, damage or alteration to the structure or Yurt, Tipi, Shepherds Hut or other parts of the site caused by negligence.
Wild Northumbrian cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property.
NO SMOKING POLICY
All our Yurts and Tipis hold a strict NO SMOKING POLICY and smoking in any of our Yurts or Tipis will result in a fine of up to £100 in order to clean to a satisfactory standard. Anyone who smokes outside of the Yurts/Tipis/Shepherds Huts is responsible for disposing of their cigarette butts in a bin and NOT littering the surrounding area of the yurt.
GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT
- No recorded music after 10pm
- Please leave the kitchen tidy after use as it is a shared kitchen
- No litter or cigarette ends on site
- Please keep noise to a minimum after 10pm . Please respect the natural enviroment and neighbours
- Please keep dogs on leads around sheep, chickens, ducks etc.
- Please leave your accommodation and the surroundings as you found it
The owners have the right to take matters further if this code is not respected
NO FIRE POLICY:
Fires are restricted strictly to the wood burning stoves and braziers only. No open fires or fire pits are allowed except where shown.
