Insurance

We recommend you take out suitable travel insurance to protect you should you need to cancel your stay at the last minute due to illness or other extenuating circumstances.

Arrival and your stay

All yurts and huts are available from 3 pm on day of arrival and must be left in a clean condition (as you found it) no later than 10.30am on departure day. If you find the accommodation needs attention in any way when you arrive, do not hesitate to contact us and we will remedy it as soon as possible. Our contact numbers are 01434 240 203 / 07720 053 724. There is little or no signal for mobiles on site so please use the phone in the packing room (to the left of the shower block) which you are free to use.

When you arrive please make your way to the map by the main small Wild Northumbrian car park on site and locate your accommodation or use the site map that you will have been provided with before your stay. You are welcome to make your way to your yurt or hut and make yourselves at home. If you need someone to meet you when you arrive contact us on the numbers etc above and one of us will be there to show you around.

We live off site and therefore cannot always be available when guests arrive onsite. If we miss your arrival we will make a point of getting to see you as soon as we can, sometimes the next morning. Someone will normally be around onsite between 3-5pm.

If there is anything missing, broken (which we have not spotted prior to your arrival) untidiness or a question you need answering do let us know as soon as you can. My mum lives on site and is very amenable to being a person on site to contact up to 4.30pm in the afternoon. There is a phone on site in the room (the packing room) to the left of the shower facilities near the house for use by all guests at all times day and night.

Guests are reminded that yurts are not solid buildings and that you are in the wilderness where food and waste left lying will be seen as an opportunity for a meal by enthusiastic field mice. Taking this into account we strongly suggest keeping food in a sealed container or the communal kitchens.

Pets

We welcome well behaved dogs. Please be aware there is a large amount of farmland in the area so please keep dogs under control and pay extra attention during lambing season when dogs should be kept on leads when there is access to livestock. Please bring a dog bed with bedding for inside the accommodation.

Kit list

Remember to bring sensible outdoor footwear, waterproofs, towels and torches and between June and September, some insect repellant just in case. Please see the yurt and hut section of the website to see exactly what is provided in each type of accommodation.

Departure

On departure, all yurts and huts are to be left clean and tidy and cutlery/plates etc returned from the kitchen and put back as you found them in the yurt, with the keys. All rubbish and recycling are to be disposed of responsibly in the bins on site. If the accommodation is left in an untidy state Wild Northumbrian reserve the right to charge extra for a full valet.

Booking

When you make a booking and payment an email confirming the dates and times of your holiday is sent to you. Booking and payment is considered the establishment of a legal contract.

Cancellation by you

Due to our site becoming more and more popular we cannot offer any refunds so we recommend you take out your own cancellation insurance.

If you do not arrive on the date booked for whatever reason and have not paid the balance an invoice will be sent out for the balance by email.
