Small and perfectly formed, the Bonny Shiel is an antique, original shepherds hut which offers a cosy and romantic get away for couples or those with young children. Set in it’s own corner of a field, overlooking the fells, The Bonny Shiel has wonderful views of the valley and hills and offers a wonderful retreat at any time of the year.
When you arrive at the hut and step inside, you can disconnect with modern life and reconnect with each other and the magic of fire and candlelight! The Bonny Shiel has a raised large double bed with lovely bed linens and blankets and a wonderfully comfortable mattress. There is a cute kitchen area, with a wood burning stove to warm the hut and to cook and heat food on. There is also a stainless steel cooktop.
Brass wall mounted candlesticks and other antique touches add old world charm and for smaller visitors there is a storage areas which doubles as a snug and sleeping area.
Outside of the hut there is a private gravelled fire pit area where you can sit and cook, warm yourself around the fire and hopefully stargaze on clear nights. During the day you can enjoy the beautiful views and the sheer tranquility of this secluded part of the site.
And coming soon is a dinky 8 foot long hut to offer extra indoor space for children and as a private reading and relaxation area.
The Bonny Shiel position offers great access to the site facilities, to walks to Sidwood and Greenhaugh and the Hollybush Inn.
